Drew was introduced to meditation at the age of ten when his mother took him to a Transcendental Meditation teacher. Further early explorations into eastern philosophy came by studying Korean and Japanese martial arts.
At the age of twenty Drew started practising yoga asana and he has maintained a practise for over seventeen years.
Since 2002 Drew has studied with Bobbi Goldin, nationally respected (USA) Iyengar Yoga instructor and Director of the Yoga Institute of Miami.
Since 2003 Drew has studied with internationally renowned ‘Teacher of Teachers’ and founder of Purna Yoga, Aadil Palkhivala.
Drew continues to participate in an Ongoing Teacher Training Class with Aadil and plans to enroll in the 2008 graduating class of the Yoga Centers College of Purna Yoga beginning in November 2006. Drew’s other passion is music.
He holds a Bachelor of Music: Instrumental Performance degree from the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho in the United States. He listens to many styles of music but prefers to perform jazz.
ABOUT PURNA YOGA
Purna yoga is a‘re-synthesis’ of the traditions of yoga based in the lifetime experiences of Aadil Palkhivala and his wife Mirra.
Purna means ‘complete’ in Sanskrit.
Purna Yoga combines the proper alignment and precision of Iyengar based asana and pranayama, the meditation of Mirra, the living philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and the nutrition of the Ayurvedic, Chinese and Western traditions.
